Most of us are looking forward to the summer at this stage- nice weather, days out with friends, vacations and generally just fun times outdoors. The only problem is that summer means ditching your winter layers, it might even mean getting yourself into a swimsuit! If the idea of this makes you anxious there’s no need to fret, you have plenty of time to look good and feel even better with these tips.
Lose Weight and/or Tone Up
Most of us are conscious of how we look in swimwear due to our size, shape or both. Losing weight if you need to and/or toning up is the obvious answer here. No only will this improve the way you look on the outside but will give your confidence a boost meaning you feel better on the inside too. Avoid silly fad diets that do more harm than good, instead focus on clean eating and getting lots of good nutrients into your body. Healthy weight loss is around 2lbs a week, and since there’s a good few months left before bikini season arrives, you have plenty of time to make a change. Come the summer you’ll be feeling fitter, more confident, healthier and with a physique, you’re far happier with.
Consider a Cosmetic Procedure
Sometimes weight loss and exercise can’t fix issues. In the case of sagging or loose skin, the only thing that can make a difference is a surgical procedure. Maybe you’ve lost a lot of weight or had a baby leaving you self-conscious about your stomach? A tummy tuck can give dramatic results. Maybe you’ve always been conscious of small breasts or sagging issues? A breast augmentation can give you the look you’re after. Perhaps you have pockets of stubborn fat on the body which don’t disappear even with exercise? Liposuction can help with this. These days you can even have non- surgical liposuction done, with lasers or ‘fat freezing’ techniques. This is good since there’s no recovery time needed and it’s less expensive too.
Shop For Flattering Swimwear
Good swimwear can really make the world of difference if you’re feeling insecure about your body. You don’t have to go with skimpy string bikinis if this isn’t you; how about a one-piece, a tankini or a swim dress? You can buy gorgeous coverups too so you do not have to show off too much flesh when you’re out of the pool. Focus on pieces that fit right and flatter your body shape. The cups should be the right size (go for proper underwired bikini tops if you have a bigger bust) and the bottoms should fit right so neither too tight or too loose. Don’t just order online and guess, go into a shop and try on lots of different styles.
Work on Your Confidence Levels
If your confidence, in general, is low, it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside as you’ll never be happy. The key is to feel happy and healthy with your own appearance, don’t compare yourself to others who have a different shape and size to you. Embrace your uniqueness, accept that you will never be perfect since this doesn’t exist, and focus on health rather than just looks.
