This time of year reminds us that the summer has gone and the holidays are right around the corner. With the holidays comes limited time to relax or breathe for that matter. This is a great time to take a vacation and find that time to relax because you know it will be gone until January when you get back.
Taking time to relax on a vacation is a great way to recharge. My mom, two daughters and I planned a girls vacation on a cruise a few years back. We left the chilly cold damp NY and two days later we were in basking in the warmth of the Florida sun. While in Florida we got to take the girls to SeaWorld which wasn’t relaxing but it was a whole lot of fun. When we got back to the ship that night, I was able to chill in a lounge chair by the pool with my Pina Colada and watch the girls dance to the tunes on the deck.
The next morning we arrived on an island. We para-sailed 100 ft over the bright blue Caribbean, laid in the white powdery sand, and then shopped. No phones to answer, No cooking, No cleaning, No laundry, just me doing the things I want to do. Pure Heaven. My favorite lounge chair awaited me for when I got back and the waiter knew exactly what to bring me…… and to keep them coming.
We spent seven days traveling to different hot spots and eight nights of relaxation while cruising the Atlantic and the Caribbean. We all need a vacation with options to relax because we all know everyday life keeps us moving and shaking.

Some Fun Facts:
Relaxation Survey Results
Recently, Princess Cruises asked 1,000 adults across the U.S. about their relaxation styles. Here are some noteworthy findings:
· Silence or Sensory Delight? – More than a third of respondents consider themselves as “sensory relaxers,” who like to recharge by soaking up the sights and sounds of events and activities around them, such as sporting events, movies or beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Whereas, another third of respondents consider themselves as “silent relaxers,” who prefer quiet spaces, ceased conversations, and losing themselves in books or the soothing sounds of nature.
· Tried and True or New? – More than half (64%) of respondents prefer somewhere new when choosing a relaxing vacation, compared to only a third (36%) who prefer a tried and true destination.
· Relaxation Setting? – The most popular type of scenery found to be most relaxing when on vacation is ocean and waves (59%). Mountain scenery came in second (20%), followed by sunrises and sunsets (17%).
· Play it by Ear? – Respondents were evenly split when asked if pre-planning every vacation activity (52%) or being completely spontaneous (48%) produced a more relaxing experience when planning a vacation.
· To Cook or Clean? – More than two-thirds (67%) of respondents agreed that having someone else cook for them was the most relaxing way to enjoy a meal on vacation.

I haven’t had a relaxing vacation for a few years (not since I’ve been married and had a baby….). It was a great one though, all inclusive resort in Mexico. I wish you were giving away a cruise! haha. 😉
