From the minute our babies are placed in our arms a bond is formed that not many cannot explain and will never be broken. This loving bond with your baby is one that will last forever. It is based on scent and a feel. It is love and comfort. Most parents hold and snuggle their babies from the minute they are born, but not all Moms and Dads have that opportunity. For me I had to find different ways to fullfill that bond, my Lily was a preemie in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), I wasn’t able to hold her as often as I wanted to or be there as much as I desired to be. I have 2 older little boys that also needed Mommy. This was such a hard time for her Daddy and I.
Our solution was to keep a blanket with my scent with her. I slept with a special blanket that my Aunt Patti made her then we placed that blanket with her in her bassinet in NICU. It helped ease my worries that she wouldn’t know me. The NICU nurses also saw she was calmer when she was either wrapped with it or laying on it. Mommy and Daddy’s scents are so comforting to babies. When she came home we continued with a blanket that had our scent on it. It helps soothe her at night and eases her restlessness too.
Recently I discovered www.mommy-babybondingblanket.com. They make beautiful baby bonding blankets which would make a perfect gift for a mom-to-be or any baby. I wish I had known about these 16 months ago when my daughter was born. This baby bonding blanket is not only the perfect size for baby and for mommy to carry with her, but I even think they are perfect for my 5 and 7 year old boys that enjoy having a snuggly blanket. They have a hard time when I have to work nights and I usually give them my special stuffed animals or a blanket from my bed, however a bonding blanket would be a nice alternative for them instead.
I love the peace fabric and the camo for the boys! Which one would you choose?
