Marvel invited me to LA to walk the red carpet of Avengers: Infinity War. All opinions are my own. I also reviewed The Avengers: Infinity War movie with no spoilers.
On April 23rd, which was my birthday, I attended The Avengers: Infinity War Red Carpet Premiere and the after party. This film was 10 years in the making and one of the biggest events of the year. To say this was just another Red Carpet is an understatement. This was a dream come true! I’m a huge Marvel fan and The Avengers is something I share with my grandsons. We watch all the movies, play with all the toys, and of course we pretend to be super heroes!
I received my pass, along with my wristband for the party and we followed the crowd heading toward the huge sign of The Avengers Infinity War. Fans lines the streets and the red carpet (it was actually purple) in hopes to get a glimpse of their favorite super hero. As I entered, I could feel a wave of excitement roll over my entire body. I couldn’t believe I was here. My goal was to finally get to meet RDJ! I also had requests from my daughter and both my grandsons.
Once you entered the carpet, you saw all the signage of all the Avengers along the long wall. There were many spots for photo opps. Feeling like a celebrity myself, I stopped with my photo buddies to make sure I got my shot.
I wore a black Guess cocktail dress with Mix No.6 stilettos. My hair was down and loosely curled. I chose large silver and rhinestone earrings, a criss-cross silver bracelet, and no necklace since my dress had a web-like front which came up high.
We then entered what I like to call the Mecca of Marvel. As far as you can see there were Marvel Avengers props, costumes, and memorabilia.
Infinity Gauntlet
Star Lord and Rocket
Thanos
Iron Man mask (my fave)
Doctor Strange
Captain America’s Motorcycle
Little Groot
Iron Man Galore
Henry Simmons who plays Mack on Agents of SHIELD
I kind of look a little dorky in this picture but I had to post it because Henry was so gracious and I really loved talking to him. He made me feel like we’ve been friends forever. You normally don’t get that from a celebrity. He is so tall that even with 6 inch heels I look short. I also might add he is hotter in person than in the picture or on screen.
Me, Kathy (A Mom’s Impression), and Colleen (Classy Mommy)
Jana (Geek Girl Digital), Louise (Mom Start), me, and Carol (All Mommy Wants)
We then made our way into The Dolby Theatre, yes, this is where the Oscars are. They were showing the movie in three theaters and we were with the talent and their family and friends. I sat in the first row and was 5 feet from RDJ as he gave his speech. I had to retain myself to not jump up on stage to give him the hug I’ve been holding for over 30 years! Chris Hemsworth actually took a video while on stage and posted it to Twitter and Instagram and I’m in it! How cool is that!!!

Now off to the After Party
It was held in the Dolby Ballroom on the 5 th floor. There was plenty of security everywhere so there was no crashing this party. There was food galore and open bar which included all the top shelf liquors so you could have the cocktail of your choice. At each end were places to create photos with the theme of the party but truthfully, I was on the hunt for RDJ so didn’t stop for anything. Celebrities were everywhere but many of the “Avengers” were a no show and must have stayed in their VIP room until it was time to leave for their private party.
Here are some of the people I got to talk to and take pictures with. I did see Chris Hemsworth but his security team had him bunkered down and he wasn’t interested in working (taking pictures) although a few people did get photos with him.
This is my friend John, he looks just like Mark Ruffalo. John is a celebrity to me so he gets to be included here!
Producer Trinh Tran was so pleasant to speak to. I love to meet the producers and directors because most of the time they have the best stories! What I loved about Trinh was she was so thankful that I was there, yet I felt honored to have been invited.
Michael Rooker and I probably could have had an hour long conversation. Some of my friends came over to take a picture and interrupted us (how dare they LOL). Michael was a true pleasure to talk to. Michael played Merle is most known for his role as Merle in The Walking Dead, but true Marvel fans know he was Yondu in Guardians of the Galaxy!
Many people were trying to get a photo with Josh Grolin because he was the star of this film as Thanos. I told you in the beginning my goal was to get a photo (hug) with RDJ but my other top mission was to get a photo with Josh. Earlier that day my grandsons Facetimed me and they both asked for me to find Thanos and to ask The Avengers to come to their house and play. Asking for Thanos by name meant I had to do what I needed to for this photo. Truthfully I caught Josh’s eye and asked from across the way if I could come over and take a photo. He nodded yes and was so nice when I jumped in his area, past his security. I thanked him and my night was made.
I left shortly after and hit the bed at 2am and I’m sure I slept with a smile on my face all night long!
Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters April 27th!
