Girls Day Out at Waters Edge Resort and Spa

November 3, 2015 Rachel Ferrucci 4 Comments

The Perfect Girls day OutA girls weekend is great but sometimes it is hard to getaway for an entire weekend. When you can not get away, plan a girls day out. You should include pampering to relieve stress, lunch with drinks, and of course shopping. It may seem like a lot in one day but if you plan it right, it can be just what the doctor ordered. This is exactly what we do when the weekends are too packed with obligations. Our girls day out at Waters Edge Resort and Spa in Westbrook located on the shores of Long Island Sound started in the morning.

We checked into the spa and after changing into our terry robes and ordering a mimosa we headed to the relaxation room to sit and enjoy our morning cocktail. We had plenty of time before our scheduled massages so we decided to check out the indoor pool and jacuzzi. If you’re planning a spa day of relaxation, you will want to hit the pool before heading to the spa since it is shared with the guests staying at the hotel.

The relaxation room offered refreshments with fruit and you had many choices of spa services. Our choice for the day was the Signature Aromatherapy Massage at an average price of $110 for 50 minutes. You had your choice of five signature aromatherapy blends and all had a wonderful smell but I opted for the detox blend. The 50 minutes went by fast…. doesn’t it always when you are in your glory? My therapist definitely knew what spots needed additional work.

If you are staying at the resort, this would be the perfect addition to your stay. I would also recommend this if you were planning a massage only but I would not plan on spending my whole day at the spa.

The Seaview Bistro and Martini Bar’s menu items include gourmet burgers, creative appetizers and flat-bread pizzas. Enjoy the view of Long Island Sound while sipping on a signature martini,  margarita, blended tropical drink, premier wines, or espresso.

We were planning to do a little shopping, however, we sat for so long chatting in the bistro we missed the shops just across the way. If it was not for having quite a drive home we probably would have stayed much longer.

I would like to go back and when I can work in a weekend to utilize the entire resort and what it has to offer. It is a spot to place on your list for a girls day out! Seaview_bistro at watersedge resort and spa

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
