9 Healthy Habits For Beautiful SkinWhen it comes to our skin, especially when seasons change, we need to make sure we take of our skin. Here are 7 healthy habits for beautiful skin.

  1. Hydrate – I am sure you were told since you were a kid that you should be drinking water. Mom was right, water keeps us hydrated. I was told 8 glasses of water a day. The truth is you should drink half your body weight in ounces. water Pure transparent water pour from a glass
  2. Exercise- When you exercise you sweat which releases toxins. Exercise is also great for every other part of your body, inside and out. exercising
  3. Wash off the day- I’m sure you heard someone say “Wash The Day Off”. They meant, wash your makeup off before bed! If you skip this process you can be aging your skin 2 days for every night missed. As you are outside you are covered in environmental pollutants, which drive the generation of free radicals. These contribute to the breakdown of collagen and elastin, the structures that underpin youthful skin. While these structures deteriorate with age, you don’t want to do anything to speed up that process. lady washing face
  4. Limit alcohol- Alcohol can dehydrate you and your skin. Try to limit alcohol intake to keep your skin glowing
  5. Good food- A healthy diet can keep you feeling and looking your best. Foods such as legumes are low in fat and full of protein, mushrooms and strawberries for anti-aging, nuts give you nutrients, spinach for magnesium to help with blood sugar. Olive oil has anti-inflammatory properties which can help soften your skin. Bananas are a great source of calcium. fruits and vegetables
  6. Do not eat- Stay away from foods 2-3 hours before bed. It can only be beauty sleep if your body is working on beautifying rather than digesting foods you ate earlier.
  7. Moisture- Keep a humidifier in your bedroom to keep the air moist. This also helps with breathing. You can add essential oils (per your products directions) to create relaxation, dissolve headaches, and more.
  8. Sunscreen- Sunscreen is important year round. You may think it’s not needed in the winter months but the sun can still cause skin damage when exposed. I like to use a product with lesser SPF but I always apply.
  9. Cool off- Hot showers or bath can take out your skin’s natural oils. Try to keep the water on the warm side. Always pat dry, never rub.
