Gloworm a Family Tradition

September 2, 2010 Rachel Ferrucci 5 Comments

I can’t believe how much has changed since I had kids. I always had kids at my house of all ages between my own, nieces, nephews, and children of friends, so I thought I was totally “hip” and up to date with all the modern baby supplies. NOT!!! I’m amazed at some of the gadgets they have for todays moms- Some Great and some I find hard to believe moms are that lazy uncreative. One thing I can’t believe people actually spend money on is pacifier wipes….really?? Here’s a money saving tip- wet some Bounty paper towels and put them in a zip loc baggie. You now have a versatile wipe, with no added chemicals or dyes. Safe to use on baby too!

I was extremely happy to know that Gloworm, by PlaySkool was not retired! He was my girls favorite bedtime buddy from infancy. He’s become a tradition in our family. Every baby born MUST have a Gloworm. Of course when Prince T arrived he would need to have a Gloworm of his own. PlaySkool was kind enough to send him Gloworm and two other Gloworm items. Again who knew Gloworm had evolved to have friends and other products. He is now a deluxe model! He has a variety of fabrics and activities to encourage sensory development. He now has threee modes- Light only, soothing, and active mode. There’s also a choice for music (lullaby or playful songs).  AND he is machine washable! I brought him to my Prince and thought it would be a while before he would notice Mr. Gloworm. My daughter called me and said, “T, LOVES his Gloworm“,  he stares at his light, listens to the music, and makes those adorable little newborn ooooo faces, ya know the ones where you’re expecting him to start having a full blown conversation with him. I’m am so happy that Gloworm has changed for the better. I’ll let you know what Prince T thinks about his Take-Along Gloworm and his Gloworm rattle in a few weeks when he starts using them.

Check out Prince T and his bedtime buddy Gloworm. Did/Does your child have a Gloworm? How old are they? What other products by Gloworm do you have that I should get? Please let me know in the comments below

So I was first introducted to gloworm when I had Alicia 25 years ago. She would take the tassel and rub her ear to go to sleep. Gloworm had to go everywhere with her until she was about 4 yrs old. 22 years later, I bought my granddaughter Gabriella a gloworm. I to was happy to see gloworm was still around.

I love it! I never had a gloworm as a kid and always wanted one. My kids sure got some, but they weren’t as cool as this one! Love it!!

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
