Sunday Game Day is a ritual in our house! We start by getting into team gear. Jerseys on, terrible towels ready to fly, Steve the Steeler Snowman in his chair, and of course food. I usually spend hours shopping and cooking for game day. I was asked to include Sonic Drive In in our ritual and truthfully although we are Sonic lovers, I wasn’t sure how the crew would react to getting take out. Crissy Beam and I headed to Sonic and picked out all our faves plus thought this would be a great time to add some new items. We might have went a little overboard but we wanted to make sure everyone had their fill.
The Order:
- Buffalo Boneless Wings
- BBQ Boneless Wings
- Asian Boneless Wings
- Chili Cheese Coney (This is Justin’s favorite)
- Tots
- Onion Rings
- Ched R Peppers
- Shakes Galore (Sonic has the BEST shakes ever!)
The Crew:
They were very surprised when I walked in with the Sonic bags and very excited when they saw the shakes. Their eyes lit up as I started taking everything out. The boneless wings were a huge hit and I was asked if I would be including this every Sunday. I heard someone say it was nice to have three different wing choices rather than my usual one choice. We had lovers of all three flavors of the wings but many of us had our favorite. Personally the buffalo was perfect. it wasn’t too hot but had enough spice to give it a kick.
My Thoughts:
Why haven’t I thought of doing this before???? It took me a quarter of the time to go and pick up the food and set it out. I was able to enjoy time with the crew and actually watch the entire game. I ate with everyone else rather than running back and forth in the kitchen. My hardest task was to get out paper plates and napkins. Sonic even included the condiments. Clean up consisted of making sure everyone knew where the garbage can was.
