Those few hours after the kids have gone to bed can represent one of the scarce opportunities for ‘you time’ as a parent so it’s important you find hobbies that are satisfying – or at least use the time productively.  Some parents may even find that some of their old hobbies can be reinvigorated as they may suit home life.  Here are some pursuits that might compose a top three:

The internet is a big part of our lives and a device such as a portable tablet can be invaluable to parents.  You can watch films on demand, you might wish to catch up with the news, play at JackpotCity.co.uk, or you could social network in those spare couple of hours.  A tablet can be a great addition for any family or parent as it provides a great portal to the internet upon which we rely on so heavily.

The online casino has become a big part of UK culture, offering games like Bingo and Poker to prospective players.  Many online casino sites will offer free gameplay and all should be enjoyed responsibly.  They can easily fill in a couple of hours by providing absorbing entertainment.

Cooking in the UK is becoming much more of a creative pastime than ever so cooking resourcefully and on a budget can really make meal times less of a chore.  Many parents will choose to cook-up meals the night before and freeze them for future consumption.  This may not be the most satisfying pastime for some, but many parents will find themselves repeatedly in this situation so you may as well make it as enjoyable and creative as possible.

Many parents will recognize the aforementioned pursuits as important parts of how they occupy that time after the kids have gone to bed.  Be creative in how you fill your time and try to find some opportunity to escape into your own pastimes.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
