Teens and Cellphones
Nowadays there is so much to worry about when your child begins to grow up. It seems like one of the most common problems for parents to figure out is, when is the right time to get your child a cell phone? It is the easiest way to ease your mind and make sure that you can reach your child & most importantly they can reach you or authorities in an emergency. Well I believe that the right time is different for every family. For me if my child is going to begin frequenting public places with friends without a trusted adult’s supervision then the decision is already made for me. With this said comes the question, how do you pay for it? We have all heard the horror stories about someones child running up a $500 or $1,000 bill or more, so what to do? Here is a great option for you that will stop all that worry!
- Teach your child responsibility
- Teach your child how to manage money (by buying minutes)
- Teach your child this is not a toy
- Get relief that you can always reach your child
PREPAID PHONE PLANS!!
Here is how it works:
– Pick your type of plan, based on the type of phone/options you want.
- Basic Plans -Get talk, text, and web on Basic Devices for as low as $35/mo.
- Pay As You Go Talk and text on Basic Devices.3 plans to choose from.
- Smartphone Plans Get unlimited talk and unlimited text. Choose 2GB or 4GB of data.
– Choose the phone that you want, set up your type of plan, add accessories, add features & apps. Then all that’s left is checkout!
By choosing a prepaid plan the constant worry about going over minutes or texts & the nightmare of a $1,000 bill goes away. All that is left is the peace of mind that your child having a phone & way to contact you in anytime brings!
When did you get your child their first cell phone?

Had no clue that Verizon did pre-paid Smartphones. Going to have to read up…
A prepaid phone is perfect for an emergency
Prepaid keeps the cost manageable and applies limits to their technology time, use it wisely!
Our kids don’t have a smartphone yet…but I know it’s coming one more year till our boy gets his first one. I would love to give this prepaid phone to my hubby he’s looking to change cell companies and this is the right price for his everyday needs and use.
Shoot, this isn’t for a kid, this is for ME! My first phone was an LG for Verizon then I switched to a Palm Treo for work.
I need a new phone and want to stay with Verizon I’ve been very happy with them. I definitely love the idea of one flat rate as I still have medical expenses to contend with!
My 9 year old is very responsible and I would like him to have a phone especially when Paul and I are away (yes, someone is taking care of him but I know he will always answer the phone)
I love the idea of keeping the costs down!
Roo has been begging me to get her a phone… but she’s only 9. I like the idea of prepaying for the kids’ phones.
It’s a great way to keep track of exactly how much time you use on your phone.
This would be great for emergencies.
I would like to give this to my dad in case of an emergency.
I would like this because I don’t use a cellphone much so I don’t need alot of minutes.
This would be great for my son as an emergency phone
perfect for the kids
Because my daughter doesn’t have a cell phone plan now that her grandmother changed companies
This Would Be Great, Right Now I Don’t Have A Cell Phone, And The No Contract Phone Would Be Perfect!
Mine is really old and simple
Oh I love the idea of the prepaid! I always worry if I have car troubles, I cannot phone for help and with my back problems, I could not walk far to get help. I would feel so much better having a phone on me…but yet the cost would not be so expensive!
My husband actually needs one. He gets off work at 2AM and I always worry something will happen and he’ll need a phone.
i
I would like this as my contract is ending soon and I was looking towards a prepaid phone.
My youngest son drives me nuts for a phone so this is perfect!
No worries about overages.
if you dont have enough money to pay next month you dont have to worry about contracts and it ruining your credit
I think it’s less expensice.
My phone is old and unreliable. A pre-paid phone is a great way to avoid contracts.
I already use a pre-paid plan and is the only way I would give my kids a cell phone. They are 13 14 and 15 and two of them would love cell phones!
