Scapegrace

Scapegrace Black is a gin with an exciting nose of pineapple and lemon, followed by spicy juniper. The flavor profile of Scapegrace Black is unique, marrying a gin drinker’s love of juniper with something dark, delightfully devious, and beautifully unexpected. The sip is full-bodied on the palate, with unctuous pepper and oil, a hint of mint, and dreamy undertones of starch mingling with tropical fruits. The finish offers visions of freshly mowed grass, sweet earth, and herbs.

From this small blue flower, a handful of other delicious botanicals, years of hard work, exacting science, the incredible distilling landscape of New Zealand––and most importantly a sense of adventure––comes Scapegrace Black, an enchantress in a glass whether you’re a good witch or perhaps a slightly naughty one.

St. George Spirits Spiced Pear Liqueur (SRP: $35) 20% ABV

Both elegant and earthy, the St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur has all the complexity of a perfectly ripe Bartlett pear. A touch of cinnamon and clove spice add a warm touch and provide even more depth of flavor. Substantial mouthfeel and a long, lush finish.

The Pear Liqueur begins as the flagship pear brandy is infused with whole cinnamon sticks and whole cloves, and then pear juice and organic cane sugar are added. This brings down the proof (from 40% ABV to 20% ABV) and transforms the crystal-clear pear brandy into a jewel-toned liqueur.

With a substantial mouthfeel and a long, lush finish, the liqueur is a natural complement to a cheese plate or roast meats any time of the year, and there’s nothing better for a celebratory holiday meal. Open a bottle of your favorite sparkling wine and top if off with the St. George Spiced Pear Liqueur for an elegant twist on the wine that you already love. The balanced blend of pear and baking spices enhance the natural flavors of a crisp champagne!

Fresh Victor– Mixers

It’s time to embrace the chilling air, don that corny holiday sweater, and mix up some fun and festive drinks! The llamas around the Fresh Victor house are excited to share these recipes with you in hopes that your toasts are made with big smiles, and the memories you make will include the cocktails you shared. In preparing this recipe collection, I tried to not only play on the seasonal flavors and aromas we love, but to get a bit creative while “keeping it easy” when it comes to the mixing. This past year brought the launch of two new Fresh Victor mixers, and we could not be more thrilled with the reception they’ve enjoyed. I’ve included some Strawberry & Lemon recipes that bring the heat to this summery sipper by leaning on barrel-aged spirits, baking spices, and smoky Scotch whisky. I explored some surprising flavor combinations with our Grapefruit & Sea Salt mixer, which won “Best in Class, Mixer” at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Awards. And I threw in a little Tiki tipple to take you on that mid-winter tropical vacation you can enjoy as you sip and close your eyes.

 Abstinence Spirits

An award-winning line of non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs that just became available in the U.S. in the fall after launching in South Africa in 2020.

Perfect for mixing into no- and low-alcohol cocktails, Abstinence could be a fit for either “the perfect holiday spirit and cocktail bar at home” or “nurture your holiday hangover with self-care” (for Dry January).

The brand’s signature botanicals and artwork are inspired by the diverse flora of South Africa’s Cape Floral Kingdom. The line consists of Cape Citrus, Cape Spice, Cape Floral, and Epilogue X (each $35) and Blood Orange Aperitif and Lemon Aperitif (each $28), and sold on Amazon, through the website and in select stores.

1.5 oz Abstinence Cape Spice
1 oz Abstinence Epilogue X

Add Cape Spice, Epilogue X, Sweet Vermouth, and bitters to a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled. Strain into a chilled coupe and garnish with an orange twist.

Richard’s Rainwater

Sparkling water that is incredibly refreshing and a must-have for a mixer. Available nationwide at Whole Foods Market, the sparkling water not only tastes amazing, but the bottle’s design adds a decorative element to any cocktail bar. One of my favorite things about Richard’s Rainwater is that the product is 100% pure rainwater captured from the clouds. This process uses significantly less energy than traditional bottled water and doesn’t deplete local water supplies. A win-win for everyone!

Why did no one warn us that menopause would turn our bodies into a crime scene… Dryness. Pain. Sneezing roulette. UTIs showing up uninvited. And doctors smiling politely and saying, “That’s just aging.” Cool. Love that for us.

Say Hello to Silky Peach Cream 🍑 A bioidentical estriol cream that works locally to rebuild thinning tissue, restore moisture, and bring back comfort where it actually matters. Not a Band-Aid. Not a $350 prescription. Not a lube that disappears by lunchtime.

Estriol is the gentlest form of estrogen our bodies naturally make, and Silky Peach Cream puts it back exactly where menopause took it away. Over time, tissue rebuilds, moisture returns, and suddenly intimacy doesn’t feel like sandpaper and regret.

Two pumps nightly. Then maintenance. Because it took years to get this dry… it’s okay if it takes a little time to feel normal again.

I’m done whispering about menopause. I got my life back. And my peach is happy again!

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part of getting older.

If sex hurts. If you avoid intimacy. If you dread wiping.

It’s not “just dryness.” It’s estrogen loss. And yes, it’s fixable.

Menopause doesn’t ease in quietly. It shows up hot, uncomfortable, and disruptive. And for way too long, women are told to whisper about it or accept it as “just aging.” I’m done with that.

Silky Peach Cream helped restore moisture, rebuild thinning tissue, and bring back comfort where menopause took it away. Not a quick fix. Not a Band-Aid. Just real, gradual relief that made me feel like myself again.

Two pumps. Some patience. And a lot less suffering.

Stop whispering about menopause. You deserve relief. You deserve joy. Your peach deserves to be happy again.

Get the details and try it for yourself at the link in my bio.

In paid partnership with #NoPainPact and with the support of #VoicesforNonOpioidChoices.

When I found out I needed surgery, my 1st thought wasn’t the procedure. It was the fear of being handed opioids again with no real choice. After my last surgery, opioids were the only option I had, my insurance didn’t cover the non-opioid alternatives I specifically asked for. That showed me how quickly exposure can happen. Many people don’t realize that about 1 in 10 patients who receive opioids after surgery will struggle with long-term use. That’s nearly 4 million people per year. It’s no secret that opioids can lead to addiction, & we should be much louder about the fact that there are non opioid options that can be used during surgery to manage pain afterwards.
Medicare already recognizes this & separately reimburses for FDA-approved non-opioid pain treatments, proving these options are real & available. Yet insurance barriers often make them difficult or impossible to access. Instead of making decisions about my recovery with my doctor, insurance policy made them for me. As I prepare for my next surgery, I want access to every option that reduces my exposure. I know how easily things can escalate. I’ve seen opioid use continue far longer than intended. It can tear apart families before anyone realizes what’s happening. What starts as short-term pain management after surgery becomes something no one ever expected, simply because safer options were never offered. It’s frustrating that some major insurers still haven’t expanded coverage the way Medicare has. #UnitedHealthcare is one of the companies whose restrictions make it harder to access FDA-approved non-opioid surgical pain options. Because of their size, these decisions affect millions. Surgery shouldn’t be a gateway to opioid addiction. Medicare covers these options. UnitedHealthcare & others need to do the same so patients aren’t pushed toward opioids by outdated policies. Patients & families deserve better.

Tag @UnitedHealthcare so they hear why this matters #NonOpioidsNow #AccessMattersUHC #PatientsOverProfits #OpioidCrisis #RethinkPainRelief #UnitedHealthGroup #healthinsurancefail
