Avelo Airlines have taken Tweed Airport by storm, offering cheap flights from New Haven, CT to many major destinations on the east coast and Chicago and Tennessee. Tweed is one of Connecticut’s small airports that until recently only allowed passengers to go to Philly. Avelo, which launched its first flight out of Tweed in November Avelo will serve a total of 29 cities by the middle of November. Passengers have the convenience of a small airport yet the capacity to fly to their favorite destinations.
This was my mother-in-laws first time on a plane in 50 years. She was so scared but when we landed, she said she would do it again!

You do have a charge if you’d like to check a bag and for a carry-on, however, you are allowed to carry on a tote. It needs to be able to fit under the seat. If you’re going away for a long weekend, you should be able to carry everything on if you are a smart packer. Another option is getting everyone’s items in one large suitcase and only pay for one checked luggage.
My husband and I each had a checked bag and we paid for one carry-on and it was still the cheapest price we could find.
