Get More from Your 4×4 with These Upgrades

October 22, 2021 Rachel Ferrucci

When you get a 4×4 vehicle, you might be intending to use it off-road and go on some great adventures. A new 4×4 that’s just come off the factory floor is likely to already give you some excellent features. However, it might not be completely ready for some of the things that you want to do with it. Whether you intend to go on some epic adventures or you’re planning to mostly stick to the roads and driving in cities, your 4×4 can be improved to make it exactly what you’re looking for. Take a look at the following ideas for upgrading your 4×4 and getting more from it.

Increase the Height

One of the first things that you might want to do for a 4×4 is give it a lift. A lift raises the height of the vehicle so that it has more ground clearance. It can help you to manage steep obstacles more easily and makes it possible to add larger tyres if you want to. There are various height ranges you can consider, and some people will choose to have a large lift performed on their vehicle. However, many people find that about 2 inches are enough to make a difference to the performance of their vehicle.

Get New Wheels and Tyres

When it comes to tyres, not everything is equal. Your 4×4 is likely to already have a good set of tyres for the road, but if you want to go off-roading and explore more rugged terrain, you’re probably going to want something a little more robust. Changing your wheels completely isn’t necessarily something that you need to do, but new tyres can make a big difference. What you’re most likely to benefit from is all-terrain tyres, so be sure to visit a site like https://www.ozzytyres.com.au to explore what options are available. All-terrain tyres have deeper tread patterns, which improves their grip on my rugged terrain. They’re reinforced well too, so you’re less likely to experience damage.

Carry a Spare Wheel

Speaking of wheels and tyres, it’s always important to be prepared when you’re driving away from civilization. One of the common problems that can occur is a flat tyre or damaged wheel, and that’s definitely not something that you want to have to deal with in the middle of nowhere. Carrying a spare wheel is smart and having more than one spare tyre on hand is even smarter. A rear-mounted carrier for spare wheels can carry one or two spares for you. They’re ideal if you have an oversized tyre or you have a fuel tank where the spare usually goes.

Install Bullbars

Bullbars have both pros and cons. They put a lot of weight on the front of the car and they affect the aerodynamics of your vehicle too. However, they also help to protect your vehicle and they can be used to mount various things to the front of your vehicle too. Installing bullbars will provide protection for your vehicle’s cooling system and help to prevent damage from things such as animals that might hit the front of your vehicle. Steel bars are heavier but they are also stronger and more durable than aluminum alloy bars.

Carry Some Recovery Tools

One of the things that you can mount onto your bullbars is a winch. While it’s not an essential tool to have, it can come in handy if ever you need to rescue your vehicle out of a tricky situation. Getting stuck in the mud is definitely a concern in some places and, while it can be part of the fun, you want to be able to get yourself out. You can use an electric winch to pull your vehicle out if you get stuck, and all you need is a solid anchor point to attach it to. Other handy recovery tools include straps, pumps, and jacks.

Add a Long-Range Fuel Tank

Traveling off-road means you’re likely to be away from many places where you can fill up on fuel. So carrying extra with you is important, but this can be difficult to do in a safe and efficient way. Fortunately, one of the things that you can do is add a long-range fuel tank to your 4×4. Using one of these, you can place your fuel under the vehicle so that you don’t have to carry it using a roof rack or some other unsuitable solution. You can usually fit a good amount of extra fuel in them, so it should help you to be well prepared.

Improve Your Communication Options

When you’re out in the middle of nowhere, good communication is important. You might not have any reception on your phone, but that doesn’t mean that you have to be completely cut off. Satellite phones help you to stay in communication if you’re heading off into a remote area. If you don’t need one of them too often, you can hire them instead of having to buy one. Keep it charged and secure so that it’s available if you need it, even if you feel like it won’t ever be useful. A radio can also be handy for local communication.

Add More Carrying Capacity

You might try to travel light when you’re taking your 4×4 on adventures, but sometimes you need to make sure you have space for more stuff. If you have a lot of things to take with you, you might find that a roof rack and/or a trailer will be necessary. Both can be a little cumbersome if you’re going off-road, but you can find good options designed for off-roading. One thing to consider when deciding between a trailer and roof rack is fuel efficiency. If you’re consistently on the move, a trailer may be more fuel-efficient. But if you’re often slowing down and speeding up, a trailer can actually end up meaning you use more fuel.

Upgrading your 4×4 helps you to get more from it. If you’re preparing to go on some adventures, make sure you have the right equipment.

Why did no one warn us that menopause would turn our bodies into a crime scene… Dryness. Pain. Sneezing roulette. UTIs showing up uninvited. And doctors smiling politely and saying, “That’s just aging.” Cool. Love that for us.

Say Hello to Silky Peach Cream 🍑 A bioidentical estriol cream that works locally to rebuild thinning tissue, restore moisture, and bring back comfort where it actually matters. Not a Band-Aid. Not a $350 prescription. Not a lube that disappears by lunchtime.

Estriol is the gentlest form of estrogen our bodies naturally make, and Silky Peach Cream puts it back exactly where menopause took it away. Over time, tissue rebuilds, moisture returns, and suddenly intimacy doesn’t feel like sandpaper and regret.

Two pumps nightly. Then maintenance. Because it took years to get this dry… it’s okay if it takes a little time to feel normal again.

I’m done whispering about menopause. I got my life back. And my peach is happy again!

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part of getting older.

If sex hurts. If you avoid intimacy. If you dread wiping.

It’s not “just dryness.” It’s estrogen loss. And yes, it’s fixable.

Menopause doesn’t ease in quietly. It shows up hot, uncomfortable, and disruptive. And for way too long, women are told to whisper about it or accept it as “just aging.” I’m done with that.

Silky Peach Cream helped restore moisture, rebuild thinning tissue, and bring back comfort where menopause took it away. Not a quick fix. Not a Band-Aid. Just real, gradual relief that made me feel like myself again.

Two pumps. Some patience. And a lot less suffering.

Stop whispering about menopause. You deserve relief. You deserve joy. Your peach deserves to be happy again.

Get the details and try it for yourself at the link in my bio.

When I found out I needed surgery, my 1st thought wasn’t the procedure. It was the fear of being handed opioids again with no real choice. After my last surgery, opioids were the only option I had, my insurance didn’t cover the non-opioid alternatives I specifically asked for. That showed me how quickly exposure can happen. Many people don’t realize that about 1 in 10 patients who receive opioids after surgery will struggle with long-term use. That’s nearly 4 million people per year. It’s no secret that opioids can lead to addiction, & we should be much louder about the fact that there are non opioid options that can be used during surgery to manage pain afterwards.
Medicare already recognizes this & separately reimburses for FDA-approved non-opioid pain treatments, proving these options are real & available. Yet insurance barriers often make them difficult or impossible to access. Instead of making decisions about my recovery with my doctor, insurance policy made them for me. As I prepare for my next surgery, I want access to every option that reduces my exposure. I know how easily things can escalate. I’ve seen opioid use continue far longer than intended. It can tear apart families before anyone realizes what’s happening. What starts as short-term pain management after surgery becomes something no one ever expected, simply because safer options were never offered. It’s frustrating that some major insurers still haven’t expanded coverage the way Medicare has. #UnitedHealthcare is one of the companies whose restrictions make it harder to access FDA-approved non-opioid surgical pain options. Because of their size, these decisions affect millions. Surgery shouldn’t be a gateway to opioid addiction. Medicare covers these options. UnitedHealthcare & others need to do the same so patients aren’t pushed toward opioids by outdated policies. Patients & families deserve better.
