Easy and Inexpensive Interior Design Tips With Home Decor

June 9, 2021 Rachel Ferrucci

The Compass Girls partnered with TilePix but all opinions are our own!

We’ve been stuck in our house for over a year looking at the same boring decor. We have photos and art that are out-dated, flat pillows, and we need to brighten things up. I love to change up my decor, it makes me cheerful to look at my creations and have something new.

Decorating and updating rooms can be costly but if you follow these tips, you’ll be able to buy a great new outfit to go along with your new decor!

1. Follow a Color Scheme
No more than 5 colors- A balanced interior typically consists of three hues: dominant, secondary, and accent.
2. Measure Before Buying
Measure twice- cut once – this is very important per my husband who was in construction.
3. Plan Art Placement– measure and use templates

TilePix makes this so EASY! No Tape. No nails. No Damage
You easily order gorgeous 8 x 8 photo tiles to create your masterpiece! You can finally get those photos you’ve been wanting to print and get them up on the walls. The best thing is it’s so easy to switch them out.

Imagine having one poster size photo of the kids on the beach up in the summer and then switching it to a photo of beautiful fall foliage in the fall, then all different photos of the family for the holidays!

THIS is what you can accomplish with Tile Pix- obviously I’m a huge fan!

Don’t just think living room, dining room, and office! The foyer, bathroom and kitchen are also great places for creative art!

Create an art piece of your own with different shapes or an entire wall. The large poster size photos are split to create one beautiful art piece. You decide where to split your photo and how big you’d like it.

So you’re asking how can you switch them out without patching holes and painting? Tile Pix has a game-changing magnetic mounting system.

It’s easy!
Figure out where you want your photo (s) and measure
Stick the magnet to the wall and press on it for about 30 seconds. TilePix is designed and tested to work on a wide variety of wall surfaces where other tape-based products won’t stick.
Unlike other photo tiles that attach to walls directly with tape, TilePix’s proprietary, patented Stick&Slide™ magnetic hanging system makes it super easy
Place your photo

YOU GET 50% OFF YOUR FIRST ORDER AND FREE SHIPPING

DONE!!!

You can easily mix it with art pieces of different sizes
Slide, nudge and even rotate TilePix without ever taking them off the wall!
They’re easily changeable. You just swap-out and mix up the TilePix memory walls around the home (or office).

See Your Layout Before You Order

Get the TilePix app for iOS at TilePix.com. The TilePix app helps you layout your photo wall before you order it. This way you can see it before you buy it.
You can also go to tilepix.com

CHOICE IS KEY
You can fill your wall using single photos, splits, color, and B&W! You can also choose black, white, or gray frames sustainably made in the USA, with some colors using recycled material with or without mats. Oh and Free Delivery via Fed Ex

No Patience

With smaller orders (1-6)  you can choose Same Day Pickup at more than 8,000 Walgreens. I know, Amazing Right!

Images are printed with the highest quality inks and papers to preserve memories.

Pay per Order or Become a Member: TilePix are reasonably priced, and the more photo tiles you purchase, the more they save! TilePix also offers the first-of-its-kind annual membership program. TilePix+ members save 40% on every order, receive 9 FREE TilePix and get additional bonus perks throughout the year.

4.Perfect Rug Placement– In a large room, for instance, place the rug underneath the front legs of the sofa. Other furniture should touch or hover on the rug as well. Need a Rug on a budget- remember Eyely.com
5. Play with the layout– It cost $0 and you can get an entire new look by rearranging your furniture
6. Layer Light– Light can make your home pop! Add three levels of lighting: tasks, ambient, and accent. This design tip is perfect for living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens. It also adds depth and ambiance.
7. The Magic Throw Pillow– I’m sure you heard of this. Don’t struggle with pillows, Start with your largest pillow in the corner and layer different sizes and shapes. This is where you can pull color and patterns in to make it pop.
8. Paint Can Fix (Almost) Anything – A fresh coat of paint will brighten up any room. Don’t forget your baseboards and window frames. If your walls are colored (say gray) then change your baseboards and window frames to white. It will pop.
9. Add plants– And decorating magazine will have plants in the room. The natural decor brightens any room

For the Kitchen
1. Paint the cabinets– Again a couple coats of paint can make the kitchen look like new
2. Backsplash– Changing a backsplash is easier than you think and definitely worth the time learning and doing it
3. Swap out hardware– This can make cabinets look totally different. I would purchase 2 each of a couple different ones and bring them home and try them first
4. Change out kitchen accessories – Changing up the color of your accessories, such as utensil holder can make a big difference

Follow these tips and you will be happy at home again!

Why did no one warn us that menopause would turn our bodies into a crime scene… Dryness. Pain. Sneezing roulette. UTIs showing up uninvited. And doctors smiling politely and saying, “That’s just aging.” Cool. Love that for us.

Say Hello to Silky Peach Cream 🍑 A bioidentical estriol cream that works locally to rebuild thinning tissue, restore moisture, and bring back comfort where it actually matters. Not a Band-Aid. Not a $350 prescription. Not a lube that disappears by lunchtime.

Estriol is the gentlest form of estrogen our bodies naturally make, and Silky Peach Cream puts it back exactly where menopause took it away. Over time, tissue rebuilds, moisture returns, and suddenly intimacy doesn’t feel like sandpaper and regret.

Two pumps nightly. Then maintenance. Because it took years to get this dry… it’s okay if it takes a little time to feel normal again.

I’m done whispering about menopause. I got my life back. And my peach is happy again!

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part of getting older.

If sex hurts. If you avoid intimacy. If you dread wiping.

It’s not “just dryness.” It’s estrogen loss. And yes, it’s fixable.

Menopause doesn’t ease in quietly. It shows up hot, uncomfortable, and disruptive. And for way too long, women are told to whisper about it or accept it as “just aging.” I’m done with that.

Silky Peach Cream helped restore moisture, rebuild thinning tissue, and bring back comfort where menopause took it away. Not a quick fix. Not a Band-Aid. Just real, gradual relief that made me feel like myself again.

Two pumps. Some patience. And a lot less suffering.

Stop whispering about menopause. You deserve relief. You deserve joy. Your peach deserves to be happy again.

Get the details and try it for yourself at the link in my bio.

In paid partnership with #NoPainPact and with the support of #VoicesforNonOpioidChoices.

When I found out I needed surgery, my 1st thought wasn’t the procedure. It was the fear of being handed opioids again with no real choice. After my last surgery, opioids were the only option I had, my insurance didn’t cover the non-opioid alternatives I specifically asked for. That showed me how quickly exposure can happen. Many people don’t realize that about 1 in 10 patients who receive opioids after surgery will struggle with long-term use. That’s nearly 4 million people per year. It’s no secret that opioids can lead to addiction, & we should be much louder about the fact that there are non opioid options that can be used during surgery to manage pain afterwards.
Medicare already recognizes this & separately reimburses for FDA-approved non-opioid pain treatments, proving these options are real & available. Yet insurance barriers often make them difficult or impossible to access. Instead of making decisions about my recovery with my doctor, insurance policy made them for me. As I prepare for my next surgery, I want access to every option that reduces my exposure. I know how easily things can escalate. I’ve seen opioid use continue far longer than intended. It can tear apart families before anyone realizes what’s happening. What starts as short-term pain management after surgery becomes something no one ever expected, simply because safer options were never offered. It’s frustrating that some major insurers still haven’t expanded coverage the way Medicare has. #UnitedHealthcare is one of the companies whose restrictions make it harder to access FDA-approved non-opioid surgical pain options. Because of their size, these decisions affect millions. Surgery shouldn’t be a gateway to opioid addiction. Medicare covers these options. UnitedHealthcare & others need to do the same so patients aren’t pushed toward opioids by outdated policies. Patients & families deserve better.
