November 29, 2019 Rachel Ferrucci

Working from home can either be a necessity, or a lifestyle choice, many people thrive working from home, and it suits a lot of professionals in various industries. Creative industries are one of the most common to choose to work from home. But many people want to work from home temporarily, and would usually be working in an office of some kind. But whatever the reason that you choose to work from home, there are many different challenges that you may face if you have children in the mix as well.

Distractions

Children are very good at distracting their parents. Of course, we will do everything we can to make sure that our children are getting everything they require, and won’t settle down with an activity usually we can get some space to understand I will work done. However, there are days when I was children just don’t want to allow us to get this work done. Some days children feel more poorly, sometimes they are dressed feeling a little bit needy, and sometimes it’s just their age, and cannot be helped. This is where it might be a good idea to find nannies that can help. Of course, it isn’t only the children themselves that can be distracting, it’s the piling up of the washing, the parcels at the door, and various other distractions that being at home can cause.

Routine

Sometimes your working hours go out of the window when you’re working from home, many people find it a little bit of a struggle to find time for the day-to-day aspects of running a household, mealtimes, and housework can become a little bit sporadic if you aren’t careful, if you have the option to write down the schedule, and ensure that everyone sticks to it, then this will set you up in the right way.

Goals

Setting realistic goals can be a little bit challenging when you aren’t entirely sure what the day will hold for you. Children are notoriously unpredictable, and when you work from home and the children are not feeling particularly well, you may miss deadlines since parental duties will always come first. However, offering goals and incentives to the children if they are old enough to understand can actually improve your overall situation. There is no reason that you can’t set a target for the children to complete in the same timeframe that you need to achieve your own goals. Maybe even turn it into a game to see who can finish their little job first? As with anything parenting related children will always respond better to positivity and fun, so if you are able to turn it into your own benefit, by creating fun activities, that will keep the children entertained, it will mean that you will have more time to spend with them ultimately since you will be able to clear your workload quicker.

If working from home is new to you, then finding the right balance is going to be tricky at first, but Doing your research, and making sure that you know precisely how you’re going to play the situation, is essential. You can be successful working from home when you have small children you just have to find the right routine, and ways of doing things for you and your family.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
