How To Know When It’s Time To Start Using Anti-Aging Products

November 23, 2018 Rachel Ferrucci

If there’s one area of beauty that many women struggle with, particularly younger women, it’s knowing what the right time is to start using anti-aging products. The issue is that there’s no set age when you are supposed to start using anti-aging products. It used to be assumed that you didn’t need to use them until at least your mid-thirties when the signs of aging began to become apparent. However, over the years this has changed, and instead, it’s now seen as being better to start using anti-aging products earlier.

However, the issue is that many women still find themselves confused about when they should start using anti-aging products, in addition to what anti-aging products they should be using. It’s not easy determining which skincare routine is right for you at the best of times, so throwing anti-aging skincare into the mix simply makes things ten times harder for a lot of women. Of course, there’s also the fact that no one wants to admit that they’ve got to that age where they require anti-aging products to give their skin the love that it needs to stay looking youthful, do they?

Anti-aging is a complex area and one that many women struggle to properly understand. However, this doesn’t have to be the case – because we have put together a guide to all of the best tips and advice about when the best time is to start using anti-aging products and what products you should be using. For everything that you need to know, read on.

Start before you need to

One of the most important pieces of advice when it comes to anti-aging skincare is that you really should start an anti-aging skincare routine before you actually need to do so. The key is that being opting for a preventative anti-aging skincare approach, you can prevent the signs of aging – fine lines, crow’s feet, stained skin, and deep bags under your eyes – before they start. Of course, eventually the signs of aging will catch up with you, but by taking a preventative approach to skincare, you can slow this process down.

When should you start exactly? This can be a tricky question to get right and is something that many people struggle with. If you ask any skincare specialist, they will tell you that the best time to start is in your mid to late twenties. However, that being said, some anti-aging skin care products are designed for skin from the age of 21-years-old. So when you choose to start using anti-aging products is up to you.

What should you be using in the early stages?

Admittedly, there are various potions and lotions that do all sorts to your skin as you age, to effectively ‘turn back time’. However, when you’re younger you don’t need products that are so powerful, instead, you should focus on gentle anti-aging products.

An eye cream is a must-have item from a young age. The delicate skin under the eyes is often the first area to begin to age because it’s far thinner than any other area of skin. That’s why an eye cream, such as an Avon eye cream, should be one of the first products that you opt to invest in to help prevent your skin from aging too quickly. Avoid any eye creams with overly harsh chemicals and stick to a gentle but effective option.

It’s also essential that you have a good facial scrub in place that you can use once or twice a week. A mistake that you don’t want to make is failing to exfoliate your skin on a regular basis because even from a young age dead and dry skin cells can get stuck to your face. Whereas by exfoliating you are removing these skin cells and allowing healthy, and younger skin cells to appear, giving your appearance a more polished and healthy glow. Just make sure that the exfoliants you are using are not too abrasive or too chemically harsh, as these can damage your skin significantly.

Whatever you do avoid acid-based products. While these products can be extremely useful for women’s skin as they get older, for younger skin that is just beginning the aging process, these can be extremely damaging.

Last but not least, make sure that you are using an effective anti-aging face cream. However, if your skin is overly oily already, it is important to look for an oil-free option as you don’t want this cream to make your skin more oily or more unhealthy.

There you have it, everything that you need to know about starting to use anti-aging products at a more youthful age.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
