Jewelry to Wear to a Wedding

Wedding Jewelry

When two people are going to get married, it gives everyone that is invited the green light to dress their best. You get to wear your high-end clothes and dress like you’re a movie star, no matter if you’re a guest or actually part of the wedding party. Perhaps that’s why there are only specific clothes that some manufacturers and brands will design that are for weddings only. It’s also because weddings have a different culture and always have. Clothes for the women are much more elegant and flowing, the designs have been far more creative, the experimentation with materials is off the charts and even for men there are lots of options on wedding attire styles. Jewelry designers are also aware that weddings have their own culture that they reside in, hence why there are imaginative pieces created just to be worn at such an occasion. Many people don’t even know that this is the case and just wear whatever is their best in their wardrobe. But, here are some examples of wedding jewelry you can try to acquiesce as part of your collection, ready for when your wedding comes around.

Chained headband

Many people are familiar with a tiara as a piece of jewelry worn on the head. It’s elegant in design, and naturally, foists some of the best precious stones one may be able to afford high above. It’s a symbol of royalty and always has been looked at, as something princesses will wear before they wear their crowns as queens. However, recently the tiara has been moved aside for other styles such as the bridal chain headband. As you can imagine, this piece of jewelry is mainly made up of an expensive chain made from gold or silver. However, in the chain, there is a or sometimes multiple, precious stones that can be surrounded by brilliant metal designs. You can hang gemstones from the headband in their own holding support, or you can link multiple stones to drape along your head and or hair. The chain can be connected and worn around the head in multiple manners, but it matters about how it is designed also. If you want the headband to drape a little then you’ll only have one precious stone that is lodged in your hair.

Oval or rectangle?

There has been a debate about which kind of ring design is better since time immemorial. Some say that if the gemstone is in a rectangle shape, that is a symbol of more power as you’re generally going to be getting more precious stone than any other shape. However, then there is the argument that oval and the classic diamond shape are much more intricate. These shapes require a lot of craftsmanship, and therefore they are worth more because of the skill it takes to cut them into the complex design. You can browse here and see great examples of all three designs and judging by their band and overall look, what kind of ring would suit you.

One such example of a classic kind of style, is the 14kt rose gold Moissanite and diamond basket. It’s a clear diamond with a traditional crown but a double band, encrusted with small diamonds. On the other hand there is the 14kt rose gold radiant peachy rose, sapphire that is in a rectangle shape. Slightly purple in color, this ring also has a double band but wider in spacing. It’s also encrusted with smaller diamonds.

Pinning a symbol

A brooch is often something that is overlooked by people attending a wedding or hosting one. It isn’t subtle and is obvious but it gives you an opportunity to symbolize something meaningful in your life. The great thing is, you can have absolutely any design you want, as it’s supposed to be something that’s personal to you. Any kind of quality is okay also, such as silver, gold, steel, diamonds, sapphires and more. Usually a bride that wears a brooch will wear it on her shoulder supports of her wedding dress. However, it can also be worn in your hair and may even be suitable as a hair-clip. Most of the time, brides that wear brooches will be wearing something that their parents passed down to them, and thus they want a piece of jewelry that is part of the family to be included in their attire.

Tiaras used to be very popular but have since kind of taken a backseat to other hair jewelry. One such example is the chained headband, that keeps your hairstyle supported throughout the day but, can also have precious stones fitted into it. The classic diamond and rectangle shaped rings have battled it out for many decades, but done right, both are inseparable from the image of a wedding.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
