Bally’s in Atlantic City

March 28, 2012 Rachel Ferrucci Leave a Comment

This past weekend I went to the “All About the Drama” Soap Opera Weekend at Bally’s in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The weekend was action packed with Soap Stars & music. We had Q&A’s with The Young and the Restless soap stars, a Meet and Greet Wine Tasting, and the Drama Brunch on Sunday morning. It was the perfect weekend for any diehard soap fans looking for unbelievable access to their favorite stars!

We started with individual Q&A’s with The Young and the Restless stars Greg Rikaart, AKA Kevin Fisher; Stephen Nichols, AKA Tucker McCall; Michelle Stafford, AKA Phyllis Newman; and Michael Muhney, AKA Adam Newman.

My biggest surprise was how candid and down to earth they were. You expect them to make everything sound hunky dorey as if it’s not a job at all. That wasn’t the case, they told how their hours were mostly 9-5 but there were those days when you were there until 1 am to get the scene right. We learned that Stephen Nichols had a necklace stolen from the set that his wife gave to him. Stephen also studied yoga and was a munk for three years. With a smug look, he said it wasn’t for him. Yeah well with those looks he’d be a fool to go that course. I loved hearing he’s been with his wife for over 26 years. Go Stephen! Greg is a Mets fan (he has to have some imperfections) because his dad used to bring him to Shea Stadium and he plays tennis for exercise. We had a little more one on one time with Greg and I could have talked with him all day, yes! he’s that awesome. He even asked what my blog was about. I wanted to say, “A hot grandma having an affair with a soap star!” but I didn’t. Michelle was gorgeous and I swear she had on no make-up and her hair in a ponytail. After I got the repeated calling her a bitch out of my head, I loved her fun playful personality. She was here with 3 male co-hosts and you knew she could hold her own. Michael was the ball breaker of the bunch and I asked for a picture with him and he just kept walking…oh well his loss. All and all they were all a great bunch of down to earth people.

The brunch was wonderful, the food totally rocked! The celebs came in and were bombarded with questions from fans and they all smiled and tried to be as friendly as possible. At one point I really did feel bad for them as they tried to sit there and eat, camera flashes were going off left and right and people were watching their every bite. Good thing they had Joyce there to chase the crazies away.

It was a crazy busy day and we still had The Port Chuck band to interview then off to their concert!

Who is your favorite on The Young and the Restless? Do you like Kevin with?

I didn’t realize how much poor sleep was affecting my trips… until I fixed it.

Waking up tired, adjusting to new places, different beds, time zones… it adds up fast.

Traveling with the AirMini changed that for me. It’s compact, simple, and makes it easy to stay consistent no matter where I am.

Now I actually feel like I’m experiencing my trips, not just getting through them.

Check it out at the link in my bio.

#ad No one tells you that your skin doesn’t just “age”… it changes.

Dryness, dullness, fine lines, that crepey texture… it’s not just time. It’s hormonal.

I kept layering on creams thinking I just needed something “better,” but nothing was actually addressing what was going on underneath.

M4 from @myalloy is different. It’s prescription skincare made specifically for hormonal skin, using topical estriol to help restore collagen, hydration, and elasticity right where your skin needs it.

It doesn’t enter your bloodstream. It works at the skin level. And honestly… it just makes sense.
