Fashion Friday- Fancy Up a Casual School Outfit

November 5, 2010 Rachel Ferrucci 7 Comments

Hi there fellow fashionistas!!!

Ever have those times when you have to go out to dinner for your mom’s birthday right after school and you only have a little bit of time to fancy yourself up?

This week I am going to show you how to fancy up a casual school outfit for a evening on the town for a celebration.

To school I’m wearing a black and taupe (brownish grey) striped shirt from Justice, Vanilla Sky skinny jeans from Marshalls and Taupe suede boots with straps, buckles and jewels also from Justice. My accessories are black knitted fingerless gloves and a purple knitted hat from the Childrens Place. You may be wondering why I included a purple hat in my neutral color outfit….. I believe that every girl needs a splash of color in their life and purple is my signature color!!!

When it is time to leave for dinner and your mom is yelling “Let’s go…. this is not a fashion show!!” you take the 5 minutes that it takes your little sister to get in the car to get fancied up… because contrary to mom’s statement… this is a fashion show!! I take off the hat, gloves and boots… put a bit of hair up in a clip, put on a fancy necklace and put on fancy boots and you are good to go! The shirt from Justice came with a necklace that was attached but it fell apart so I kept the ribbon part and took a necklace from a different Justice shirt and attached it to the shirt… you will notice that the necklace has a purple bow on it from the purple shirt it came with but it’s OK because like I said every girl needs a splash of color!! I chose to wear black boots this time around because they are shiny patent leather with a fancy buckle and they gussy up the outfit!!

Great fashion twice in one day is so simple!!! Until next Friday this is Megan saying

life is a fashion show!!

please leave a comment below, I’d love to hear what you think or if you have any fashion questions.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
