There are plenty of ways to spend money on improving our health, but we can mprove our health for free with our smiles! Once you read this and think about the 4 ways smiling can improve your health, it will all make sense to you! We all know that one person who is always smiling or laughing and always in a great mood and happy. Wouldn’t it be great to be like that? Life is busy and stressful and can really take the “happy” right out of us. Just like with anything else, practice makes perfect!

There are thousands of expressions we can make with our 44 facial muscles. Smiling is one of our best assets. Research has shown there is a real connection between body and mind.

Smiling Can Reduce Stress

When you smile, your face muscles relax, calming your nervous system and increasing endorphins. Our heart rate is an indicator of the body’s stress response, and when we smile it may help lower your heart rate. It may not get you out of that stressful situation but it does help over time to reduce stress.

Smiling Puts Us In A Happy Mood

The body-mind connection is real! When we smile, it triggers the area of your brain that creates happiness. So, if you’re in a bad mood and make yourself smile, you’ll be smiling for real in no time.

Smiling Helps Others

80% of adults say the first thing they notice about others is their smile. Smiling is contagious! When you smile at others, 99% will smile back. And remember when you smile, it triggers the happiness in your brain, so you’re helping them “get their happy on”. I’ve actually tried this walking through NYC and it really works. Quite often when we have girls day or night, one of us will smile and before you know it, we’re all cracking up!

Smiling Boosts Your Confidence

We all go through periods when we’re feeling down about ourselves, but smiling can help you. Confidence takes practice, too, and one way is to look in the mirror and smile at yourself. You are now doing the action, but you’re also seeing it. I also sometimes give myself a boost by saying, ” You are going to rock today!” OR “You look beautiful today!” It may feel weird at first, but you will be a pro in no time at all!

All of the above go hand-in-hand. While you’re smiling yourself to get out of a slump, you’re also helping anyone seeing you smile, which in turn is helping them, and you’re both boosting your confidence while reducing stress! Win Win!!!

Knowing how valuable a smile is, we need to get our smile healthy, and the best way to protect that beautiful blessing is with healthy dental habits. Oral-B and Crest are helping us refresh our dental health routine and save money right now at Sam’s Club.

How To Protect Your Smile

We can see how valuable a smile is so it’s important to protect it. Of course, you should go to your dentist for your regular checkups. I have added four products into my daily routine to make sure I keep my smile healthy and looking its best!

  • Crest 3D White whitens teeth by removing up to 80% of surface stains and protects against future stains. It also strengthens my teeth and is safe on tooth enamel while leaving my mouth feeling clean.
  • Oral-B ProAdvantage CrissCross Toothbrushes have CrissCross bristles and angled in opposing directions to lift out and sweep away plaque. It easily reaches my back teeth and more dentists use these themselves.
  • Crest 3D White Brilliance Whitening Mouthwash has advanced whitening and is peroxide-free and alcohol-free. It helps to whiten teeth in just 7 days.
  • Oral-B Glide Pro-Health Comfort Plus Floss is fresh and minty, stimulates gums, and helps prevent gingivitis. I keep this in my purse at all times.

TIP: If you don’t floss, this is a great product to start with, its extra soft and gentle on gums. Once you start flossing and feel the difference, you will be addicted! Crest and Oral B.Floss

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
