Styling Your Hair Without Damaging It

You hair is a huge part of your style but it is also very delicate and requires a lot of care. If you don’t like the way your hair looks naturally, it is only right that you would want to style your hair in a different way to make it look and feel shiny, healthy and thick.

The issue is that when many of us style our hair, we also cause it great damage. Even if you are using straighteners that can be trusted or your hairdryer on a cool setting, it can still cause damage to your locks over time. Today we are going to talk about ways to care for your hair and style it without damaging it.

A cold wash

Our hair care always starts in the shower. When you wash your hair in the morning you want to try and wash it in the coldest water you can handle. As we know. Hair is very sensitive to heat and if you wash your hair in hot water, you open up the pores of the hair and make it more susceptible to breakage. Washing your hair in cold water helps to keep it strong, silky and shiny.

Protect before you style

Every time you put heat on your hair, you should first prepare yourself with a heat protecting spray. There is no excuse not to use a protective spray on your hair before you use the hair dryer or straighteners. Make sure that you spray your protective spray all over your hair and brush it in before you do anything to your locks. A spray such as the Aussie Hair Insurance is a great choice.

Style quickly

If you are going to be using heat on your hair, make sure that you work as quickly as you can to minimise the time you hair is exposed to the heat. Try your best to only touch your hair for a few seconds each time you run your straightener through or hold it in a curl. This will make sure that your hair doesn’t burn.

Go heartless

the most simple way you can protect your hair from damage is to find heatless styles instead of using your appliances. Let your hair air dry naturally, and while it is damp you can put it into different styles in order to bring it waves or curls in the morning. For example if you braid your hair when it is wet, you will wake up to beachy waves for the entire day. You are not damaging your hair with heat and you are also bringing the added benefit of wearing your hair up during the night. If you want nice curls in the morning all you need to do is wait until your hair is 80% dry, pull it up into a high ponytail and then take a small inch section. Roll it around your finger into a curl and pin it under the bobble. Do this all over your head until you have a messy bun, sleep in it and when you wake up you will have amazing curls. There are plenty of ways to style your hair without exposing it to heat.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
