The Mazda 6 Hits The West Coast

November 29, 2017 Rachel Ferrucci 16 Comments

We drove the entire east coast of Florida, The Sicilian and me. Taking seven days and stopping to see all the beaches Florida had to offer. Mazda 6

This time we decided to fly to the west coast to go on a mini road trip from Los Angeles to Vegas. There would be two full days in LA, one travel day, and three days in Vegas.

The last Mazda I drove was the MX-5 Miata, it went with my “zoom zoom” attitude (pun intended) and I wanted to have fun. For this trip I knew I needed something that would fit all our luggage, be easy to drive, comfortable, and great on gas.

The Mazda team suggested the Mazda6 sport sedan. I drove this car last year and loved it but my focus then wasn’t the same as then, this time I was concerned about all our luggage. To my surprise our enormous suitcase, large suitcase, and carry-on suitcase all fit in the trunk with room for bags filled with souvenirs. How this sporty looking car has so much room is magic.Mazda6

Side note for grandparents – two car seats will fit comfortably with plenty of room to spare.

The leather seats are super comfortable and you’re immersed in luxury with a large consul and sleek dash. When the Sicilian (with his bad back) and I take road trips, we have to stop every couple of hours so he could stretch his back. We drove six hours not needing to stop, well… there was one food and potty break. Mazda6

We mapped out our adventure, starting in LA. We only had two days so we had to make it count. Sunset Strip and Hollywood Boulevard were the first two roads we ventured, then we drove down Santa Monica Blvd to check out “The Pier”, back up to Rodeo Drive then onto to Beverly Hills.

Driving in the “Hills” was so fun. As you’re taking curves and hills, you feel the Mazda 6 technology giving you a smooth ride. They made it so the control system works in the background for “spirited” drives. As we took the curves, the power delivery was adjusted seamlessly. You can feel the control you have, yet the car does all the work. Each corner we passed had no barriers and a 50 foot drop so I was thankful I was driving the Mazda. You see, the technology shifts the vehicles weight on initial turn-in and throughout the corner, letting you enjoy the ride! Mazda at Santa Monica Pier

The next day we headed to Studio City for the set of 9JKL and then we hit the road for Vegas. The front leather seats were super comfortable. When the Sicilian (with his bad back) and I take road trips, we have to stop every couple of hours so he could stretch his back. We drove six hours not needing to stop, well there was one food and potty break.

At one point The Sicilian decided to take a nap. He reclined his seat and slept listening to tunes while I took the helm. With the moon and reflectors lighting my way across Interstate 15, I turned down the music and listened to the song of the engine and the beat of the tires hitting each grove in the asphalt.  Every movement felt like I planned it out as we crossed through the Mohave Desert until in the midst of the dark, the lights of Vegas lit up the sky in the distance. Mazda 6 in Vegas

In the following days we explored Vegas from the strip to the mountains, enjoying every ride. Our full tank of gas started in LA and lasted until we were on our way to the airport, still with 26 miles left.

This is truly a car that you should check out! Find out more information on the Mazda website about all the trend setting technology and design!

The Sport – starting at $21,945

The Touring – starting at $24,195

The Grand Touring- starting at $30,695

The Mazda 6 looks really nice. I love all of the hot cars that are coming out to market. I will have to think about upgrading, wishful thinking I am sure 🙂 The price for the Mazda 6 isn’t all that bad though!

I have been doing some research for a replacement car. The Mazda6 sport sedan is at the top of my list. It would be amazing for a road trip.

Love the sporty look of the Mazda 6 and I love RED. Too scared to drive a red car though…even though it’s my favorite color – not sure why.

The Mazda 6 is such a handsome looking car! Look at those nice leather seats! OMG, and the console and dashboard is fantastic! Plus of course, the fuel efficiency is really great. If I were in the market for a new car, I’d seriously consider a Mazda.

Oh wow. I fell in love with those plush interiors!Talk about driving in luxury and comfort! My son will be getting his first car next month and we’re looking around for a good first car that would provide safety, reliability on the road and comfort too. Will be considering the Mazda 6.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
