Always Beach Ready

June 22, 2017 Rachel Ferrucci Leave a Comment

playing at the beachWith the school holidays just around the corner, I am preparing myself for long days spent with the grandchildren. They are great fun, and I love spending time with them, but having them all day means you have to think on your feet to keep them happy and occupied. So, I am busy putting together ideas for days out.

Top of my list is a day, or two, at the beach. They love being by the sea, and it is a good way to let them burn off some energy and spend some time outside. At this busy time of the year, you have to get there early to be able to bag yourself a good spot. You need to be prepared and have bought everything in advance. That way you can just grab your stuff and the kids, get in the car, and hit the beach before the crowds arrive. on a boat

Swimwear

Top of the list is swimwear for everyone. Make sure everyone tries theirs on, so you know who needs to by a new cozzie.

If it is you that needs a new swimming costume, this range of bikinis from Simply Be could be perfect. There is a good choice of styles. They are available in sizes 8 to 34, and cup sizes A to K, making it easy to find one that fits perfectly. Best of all you can mix and match the tops and bottoms, so you can create the exact look you want.

Remember to try your bikini on before you go to the beach. While wearing it, reach up high and bend down to make sure that everything stays in place and preserves your modesty. In all likelihood you are going to be playing games like badminton, or swimming with the kids. You are going to be pretty active, so want to make sure that your bikini is up to the job.

Sun protection

Check the expiration date on your sun cream. Also, make sure that you have enough left in the bottle to take everyone through the day. If you need more buy it from the supermarket. Typically, their sun care products are the cheapest, but they are just as good as the more expensive branded versions. Make sure everyone has sunglasses and a hat with a wide brim, so that their eyes are properly protected. Also, consider taking a beach umbrella or shade tent, so nobody gets sunstroke.

Ready for emergencies

It is also wise to take a few first aid items with you. Most of the time you will not need them, but it is good to have some sort of antiseptic and a few plasters with you to help you to deal with any knocks and scrapes.

The right bag

If you are going to the beach on your own with three or four little ones in tow you need to think about how you are going to get all the stuff you need down to the beach. You should have a big bag, and if the kids are old enough give each of them a soft cloth rucksack to carry their own swimwear, towel, goggles etc. This beach bag buying guide will help you to choose the type that will work best for you and your family.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
