Shoes You’re Going To See Everybody Wearing This Year

April 26, 2017 Rachel Ferrucci 1 Comment

Vogue announced earlier this year that kitten heels were going to make a big comeback. And although they were only pointing out that the trend was growing again, it sparked a massive backlash on social media with many women saying that they’d rather have an ingrowing toenail than be spotted wearing them.

But despite the fact that shoes have been a bit of a divisive topic recently, there are other shoe trends which seem to be catching on among the general public as well as style icons. So what are they?

Cowboy Boots

Many women thought that they had seen the last of the cowboy boot. But they have been all over A/W 17 collections, including those by Calvin Klein and House of Holland. It doesn’t seem long since the noughties when women everywhere were wearing cowboy boots, including Madonna. But now many fashion commentators expect them to reappear in high street shops, following designers’ leads.

Flatform

Flatforms have historically been just as divisive as kitten heels. It seems as if women either love them or hate them. However, that hasn’t stopped the likes of Gucci and Stella McCartney experimenting with different flatform styles in this catwalk season. Unlike kitten heels, they are also comfortable, meaning that you can wear them for occasions besides partying. If you’re looking for flatforms that are a little cheaper than those sold by the designer labels, Famous Footwear offers their own alternative. Use a Famous Footwear promo code to grab a real bargain. Just make sure you pair flatforms with the right outfit.

Ribbons

There was a time when ribbons and shoes would never have been paired together. But thanks to the efforts of top fashion designers, those days are about to come to an end. Just like jumpers, which have been adorned with all sorts of frills, shoes are now being covered with ribbons too. Let’s just hope they don’t come undone while you’re out on the town!

Ballet Pumps

Kate Moss made ballet pumps the coolest of the cool in the noughties as she was at the height of her career. As a result, everybody wanted a pair in their wardrobe, even if they just sat there taking up space. Now, though, the humble ballet pump is set to return, this time with a whole load of extras, like sequins, ribbons and jewels. If you’re a woman who loves the buck the establishment, then these are the shoes for you.

Big Red Shoes

Psychologists have been investigating the color red for decades. During that time, they have discovered that the color red is practically the only color that looks good on everybody, no matter what their complexion. The reason for this is not clear. However, scientists think it has something to do with the association of the color red with sexuality. Whatever the root cause, there’s no denying that wearing good helps you look good and feel sexy. A pair of bright red shoes can instantly lift your mood and provide contrast to a neutral outfit.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
