Top Ideas For Your January Vacation To Beat The Winter Blues

December 12, 2016 Rachel Ferrucci Leave a Comment

January is often named the worst month of the year. After all, the buzz from Thanksgiving and Christmas becomes a distant memory. And everyone is feeling down in the dumps. But you don’t need to feel miserable if you plan a vacation for the first month in the year. In fact, it’s something to look forward to, and it will lift your spirits as the weather turns freezing. Therefore, here are some ideas for your January vacation so that you beat the winter blues.

Head for a city trip

One of the good things about going away in January is that a lot of the cities are quiet. After all, people have spent up during the holidays, so they have little money left to go sightseeing at this time of the year. It means you might end up getting accommodation in New York for half the price! And you won’t have to be swamped by so many people when you are looking around the main attractions. After all, it’s often hard to go see the Statue of Liberty without thousands of individuals next to you. Therefore, decide on a city that you want to visit and then you can look into transportation and accommodation for your trip. It might be great to go somewhere like Rome or Paris which are perfect to look around when it’s not so hot!

Head for a skiing trip

January is the perfect time to go on a skiing vacation. For one thing, there’s nothing better than heading down the slopes in the frosty air. And then you can finish off the day in front of a warm fire in one of the many lodges. It can be a romantic break for you and your partner. Or it could even make for a fantastic family vacation. Also, you might get cheap transport to great skiing locations such as in Canada or France as people don’t want to travel just after Christmas. You can look online to find some of the best places where you can visit for memorable vacations. Remember to book a ski instructor so that you can become a whiz on the slopes before the vacation is over.

Catch some early sun

The sunshine feels like a distant memory at the moment. But if you visit particular areas, you might be able to enjoy some winter sun. After all, there’s nothing better to cheer you up than some fun in the sun. Therefore, head somewhere like Florida which is known as the sunshine state. You can enjoy hours of lying on the beach if you head there in January. Or you could even head further afield to Australia who are enjoying their summer at this time of the year! Here are some other top places you should visit in January if you are hunting down some sunshine.

And remember that January is a great time to see the Northern Lights. So you might want to consider heading to Alaska or Iceland to view this incredible sight, plus enjoy everything else these places have to offer.

You’ll find a replica David in the square but going to Accademia Gallery in Florence and seeing this breathtaking statue by Michelangelo is 100% worth it, whether you like art or not. His right leg has a tree stump which balances the entire statue.
