The election this year seems to be stressing everyone out. I often wonder how we all put up with the trash talk in politics. We’re taught not to treat others how you would want to be treated, yet politicians do the exact opposite. My girlfriends and I may not agree on who we will vote for but one thing we do agree on is to make time for friends!
This weekend we are making it stress free- no politics- just family and friends! Instead of talking politics, we’ll be celebrating the countdown to the Presidential Election with some patriotic-themed cocktail recipes, as seen below, from zero-calorie, Sparkling Ice.

Star-Spangled Supercooler
1 Part Reisling
1 Part Pomegranate Blueberry Sparking Ice
Pomegranate Seeds
Cranberries
Teaspoon Agave
Mint
Mix all in a pitcher, pour into wine glasses, and add a mint leaf garnish.
Civic Cherry Cognac
1 Part Cognac
1 Part Black Cherry Sparkling Ice
Pour over ice into rocks glass and garnish with cherry.
Stars, Stripes & Sage
1 Part Coffee Liquor
2 Parts Black Raspberry Sparkling Ice
Splash of Heavy Cream
Sage Leaf (to garnish)
Mix coffee liqueur and Black Raspberry Sparkling Ice in cocktail glass. Just before serving, gently add cream and garnish with a sage leaf.
We love Pomegrantes at our house and they really are a healthy fruit. I like the STAR-SPANGLED SUPERCOOLER drink. It looks so festive and a good drink to also make over the Holidays.
