Why You Should Stock Up And Save In The Spring

When I see the first buds and get a taste of that first warm day, I start to get spring fever. I get motivated to clean away the winter blues and spruce up my house adding scents of the season, fresh flowers, and bright colored decor. This is also a time of year that I stock up on house supplies and travel supplies. Spring is a busy time of year prepping for summer and cleaning up the remnants of old man winter so having all my supplies on hand during the next three months saves me time.

My spring checklist includes:

• Spring clean room by room. Here are some great spring cleaning tips–
• Start seeds for my garden – Easy how-to-start-seeds-for-your-garden/
• Clean outside furniture and decor
  • I start with the power washer and then grab my Bounty paper towels and cleaner to get the stuff dirt off!

• Switch clothes
  • This also allows me to go through all my drawers to re-organize, see what doesn’t fit, and see what’s out of style. You can donate or tag sale the clothes that don’t fit.
• Clean suitcases and refill all toiletries
  • We often don’t think to clean the inside of our suitcases but this is when I vacuum them and after EVERY trip I spray them with Febreze before closing them up. They always have that fresh scent when I go to pack.
• Clean the kids toys and go through them
  • My grandkids live across the street making it easy to visit us. They have their own room filled with toys and clothes. I go through their toys and donate what they’ve grown out. I also make sure to have clothes for them and of course Pampers swaddlers. It’s so much easier to have everything here so we don’t need to lug bags around.  
• Switch out the winter decor to spring decor
  • Bring in bright colors and scents to make the stale air fresh! Change toss pillows, add fresh flowers, change throws, spray Febreze air effects, and change candles
• Plan a tag sale
  • When you’re done going through everything, plan a tag sale and sell your items. With you money you make from the tag sale and the money you save from buying all your products at Walmart, go buy yourself a new pair of shoes!

I may love my luxury items but let’s face it, we all want to save money. When it comes to everyday essentials I head to Walmart.
