We only have a couple weeks left until Halloween. If you are looking to make a costume for your toddler, you may feel rushed to get started, but there is no need to fret; there are plenty of easy Halloween costumes you can make for your toddler that take very little time, use cheap materials, and can be assembled practically last minute. Below are a few of our favorites easy DIY costumes for kids.
Bubble Bath
This costume is adorable and will remind everyone of how fun bathtime can be! The base of the costume is just tights and a leotard (or long underwear if it is cold). Then, you use a rubber ducky life preserver—which you can likely find on sale right now since summer is officially over—and add white balloons for bubbles. It is cute, easy, and affordable.
Pig in a Blanket
Pigs in a blanket—it is a beloved childhood food, and it makes for a creative costume. The base of this outfit is just a sweatshirt and sweatpants in a coordinating color—whatever color you want the pig to be. Then you use craft foam to create ears and a pipe cleaner for a curly tail. Finish it off with a blanket for your little piggy to wrap around his or her shoulders. Just like that, you have a pig in a blanket.
Shark
If your child lives for Shark Week, this is the costume you need to make. Not only is it easy to do, but your child can easily wear it around the house for play once Halloween is over. All you need is a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey pants. You sew or glue white felt cut into the shape of teeth to the hood and then attach a cardboard fin to the back; paint or cover the fin beforehand so it is grey as well. . You can just pin the fin to make it easy to remove Pretty Much Any Animal
If none of those appeal, keep in mind that you can make most animal costumes quite easily. All you need is the right color in an oversized sweatshirt. Then you make the right ears from foam, add a tail is needed, and use face paint to give the right look. It is easy and ensures that everyone can have something they like.
