The holidays are on us in full swing. At this time of year we often get run down because we forget to take care of ourselves. We want to feel our best and look our best but we’re constantly threatened by the bombs of “I don’t feel good”. A cold and flu is always lurking in the corner waiting to keep us company. There’s also the dreaded hangover after the office party that went over the top. This year stay healthy during the holidays with these easy tips.
This year I will have a mind-body balance throughout the hustle and bustle of the upcoming holiday season!
- Sleep – Make sure to get enough sleep during this busy time. It would be wonderful if we could run on diesel fuel and not need to lay our heads down but the truth is we need to take care of our well being first. Sleep is a time when our body rests and re-energizes. Adults should get at least 7 hours sleep but you know your body and if you need more….take it!
- Eating Healthy – Meals can be missed easily with our busy days or we can over eat. Snacking can also be a problem during this time. It’s important to eat your meals and be sure to include healthy foods to properly fuel our body and mind. This is a great time to keep a fruit bowl on the counter ready for the taking and cut up veggies ready to go for snacking.
- Wash Hands Regularly – You’re in and out of stores touching many places other people have been so it’s good habit to wash your hands constantly. Especially if you use public transportation where thousands of people are spreading germs. Be mindful not to touch your face! Bringing these germs near your mouth or nose can be a straight route to getting you sick. Keep an alcohol based hand sanitizer in your bag and use it while out.
- Get Germ Free – Use disinfecting wipes to wipe down public items you need to touch and let air dry. When traveling on a plane wipe down armrests, tray table, latch, seat buckle, and air vent. When shopping wipe down the carriage handle and the front seat before placing your child in. Keep them germ-free too.
- Vitamins- With Nature Made® vitamins and supplements you can take your health to the next level and be the best you possible. I stopped at Walmart and after wiping my carriage down, I went to the vitamin aisle to grab my Nature Made® , the #1 Pharmacist Recommended brand for many key dietary supplement categories*.
