4 Tips For Maintaining an Empowered State of Mind On a Daily Basis

February 15, 2022 Rachel Ferrucci

Have you ever noticed how, on some days, you feel on top of the world and as if you can do anything — while on other days you end up feeling very different, and as though everything is bleak and pointless?

It’s natural for all of us to go through highs and lows over the course of our everyday lives, but it’s difficult to avoid the fact that life is just much better when we can more consistently maintain — and focus on — empowered, positive, and upbeat states of mind on a daily basis.

When you are in an empowered and positive state of mind, all sorts of things are likely to work out much better in your day-to-day life.

For one thing, you will almost certainly be much more outgoing and proactive — and will tend to feel like there’s a purpose to what you’re doing. For another thing, you will obviously tend to enjoy the experience of everyday life more — which is its own reward, and which is also likely to improve your everyday interactions with others.

Of course, it’s not necessarily easy to maintain an empowered and upbeat state of mind on an everyday basis. In fact, it can be quite difficult in many different ways, and in many different situations.

While there isn’t a perfect one-size-fits-all path that guarantees you will be able to maintain an empowered state of mind on a daily basis, here are a few everyday tips and practices that are very likely to prove helpful.

Have hobbies and pastimes that you can become immersed in

If you end up grinding through a variety of tasks each day that you don’t really enjoy, and don’t find very engaging or immersive, it’s not unlikely that you’ll find yourself feeling pretty disheartened and frustrated as a result.

By contrast, however, having hobbies and pastimes that you can feel a sense of deep engagement in — and even excitement for — can have a completely different effect, and can allow you to enter into what psychologists have referred to as “flow states” on a regular basis.

Specifically, the kinds of hobbies, pastimes and activities that are likely to help you to feel more empowered on a daily basis are those that you can become really immersed in for hours at a stretch, while barely noticing that any time is passing at all.

Among other things, immersing yourself in hobbies and activities in this way can help to move your mind away from negative thoughts and concerns, and can also play a significant role in helping you to feel more energized and driven, as opposed to tired and frustrated.

Ideally, your job should be the kind of thing that you can become quite immersed in, in this way — but if it isn’t, then it’s all the more important for you to seek out hobbies and pastimes that enable you to experience these states of “flow” on a regular basis, as they can be deeply rejuvenating and uplifting.

Discover daily routines that help you to feel more energized and upbeat

The world-famous motivational speaker Tony Robbins has commented on the importance of being in a “resourceful state of mind” when making important decisions — by which he essentially means an upbeat and optimistic state of mind, as opposed to one that’s rooted in a sense of pessimism and drudgery.

There’s a lot to be said for directing the course of your life as a whole from a “resourceful” or “upbeat” vantage point — not least of all the fact that you will tend to be more outgoing, more dynamic and engaged, and so on.

In order to help to regularly shift your perspective back into this more empowered frame of mind — and so therefore to help you to maintain a more empowered perspective as a whole — it’s important to discover daily routines and rituals that help you to feel more energized and upbeat directly.

For some people, this may involve spending some time each morning reading a good novel before starting the day. For others, it may mean drinking a double espresso and listening to some energetic music.

Either way, regularly stepping into this kind of energetic and upbeat perspective can do a lot of good.

Feed your interest and enthusiasm in things, on a regular basis

On any given day, it’s quite likely that you’ll do things like drive to and from work, prepare and eat your meals, have a cup of tea or coffee, and so on.

But do you engage in those activities in a more less uninterested and automatic way, or do you take some genuine interest in them, and have some genuine sense of enthusiasm about them?

Whether by looking vehicles via Hoffman Ford, becoming a coffee connoisseur, trying your hand at creating culinary masterpieces in your kitchen, or a wide variety of other things, feeding your sense of enthusiasm about the world at large — and the activities you engage in on a regular basis — can have a dramatic impact on moving you into a more empowered state of mind.

There’s a virtually limitless amount of depth to any given thing or topic, and by nurturing your sense of interest and enthusiasm you can push back against the feeling of being jaded or bored, and can rediscover a lot of the magic and fascination to be found in everyday life.

Regularly expose yourself to interesting and uplifting stories

The imagination can be a beautiful and undeniably powerful thing — and so can the kinds of stories that we shape our imaginations with on a daily basis.

As a general rule, regularly exposing yourself to interesting and uplifting stories can help you to see things in a more positive light, and from a more upbeat and empowered perspective, on an everyday basis — as you will come to subconsciously spot look for the kinds of patterns, and dwell on the kinds of motifs, that you encounter in those stories.

Tales of overcoming odds, the magic of everyday life, and adventure, can all therefore be very uplifting — whereas on the other hand, tales of tragic drama, defeat, and sorrow can have a very disempowering effect.

Regularly exposing yourself to interesting and uplifting stories can potentially go a long way with regards to helping you to maintain an empowered state of mind on a daily basis.

Why did no one warn us that menopause would turn our bodies into a crime scene… Dryness. Pain. Sneezing roulette. UTIs showing up uninvited. And doctors smiling politely and saying, “That’s just aging.” Cool. Love that for us.

Say Hello to Silky Peach Cream 🍑 A bioidentical estriol cream that works locally to rebuild thinning tissue, restore moisture, and bring back comfort where it actually matters. Not a Band-Aid. Not a $350 prescription. Not a lube that disappears by lunchtime.

Estriol is the gentlest form of estrogen our bodies naturally make, and Silky Peach Cream puts it back exactly where menopause took it away. Over time, tissue rebuilds, moisture returns, and suddenly intimacy doesn’t feel like sandpaper and regret.

Two pumps nightly. Then maintenance. Because it took years to get this dry… it’s okay if it takes a little time to feel normal again.

I’m done whispering about menopause. I got my life back. And my peach is happy again!

I didn’t expect this to be the hardest part of getting older.

If sex hurts. If you avoid intimacy. If you dread wiping.

It’s not “just dryness.” It’s estrogen loss. And yes, it’s fixable.

Menopause doesn’t ease in quietly. It shows up hot, uncomfortable, and disruptive. And for way too long, women are told to whisper about it or accept it as “just aging.” I’m done with that.

Silky Peach Cream helped restore moisture, rebuild thinning tissue, and bring back comfort where menopause took it away. Not a quick fix. Not a Band-Aid. Just real, gradual relief that made me feel like myself again.

Two pumps. Some patience. And a lot less suffering.

Stop whispering about menopause. You deserve relief. You deserve joy. Your peach deserves to be happy again.

When I found out I needed surgery, my 1st thought wasn’t the procedure. It was the fear of being handed opioids again with no real choice. After my last surgery, opioids were the only option I had, my insurance didn’t cover the non-opioid alternatives I specifically asked for. That showed me how quickly exposure can happen. Many people don’t realize that about 1 in 10 patients who receive opioids after surgery will struggle with long-term use. That’s nearly 4 million people per year. It’s no secret that opioids can lead to addiction, & we should be much louder about the fact that there are non opioid options that can be used during surgery to manage pain afterwards.
Medicare already recognizes this & separately reimburses for FDA-approved non-opioid pain treatments, proving these options are real & available. Yet insurance barriers often make them difficult or impossible to access. Instead of making decisions about my recovery with my doctor, insurance policy made them for me. As I prepare for my next surgery, I want access to every option that reduces my exposure. I know how easily things can escalate. I’ve seen opioid use continue far longer than intended. It can tear apart families before anyone realizes what’s happening. What starts as short-term pain management after surgery becomes something no one ever expected, simply because safer options were never offered. It’s frustrating that some major insurers still haven’t expanded coverage the way Medicare has. #UnitedHealthcare is one of the companies whose restrictions make it harder to access FDA-approved non-opioid surgical pain options. Because of their size, these decisions affect millions. Surgery shouldn’t be a gateway to opioid addiction. Medicare covers these options. UnitedHealthcare & others need to do the same so patients aren’t pushed toward opioids by outdated policies. Patients & families deserve better.
