We have gone pumpkin picking since the girls were little and many people do this as a tradition. When prince was born, we started taking him pumpkin picking. This year we went with both princes and their parents but made a day out of it.
We headed to Lyman Orchards which has thee best corn maze in Conn. The great thing about Lyman Orchards is there is a ton to do. Start with the maze but you will need to stop on the way to the maze to take fun pics.
You’ll be in there a while and it won’t get boring if you take the questions with you to find your way. You see along the way are markers, at each marker there is a question, if you answer it correctly you will find your way with ease. The questions are all levels so we took the toddler one and Prince had to get us through on his smarts.
There are fun signs with PEZ facts along the way. The kids were excited to reach the signs or markers first and wait for the fun fact or the question.
After the maze, head to the market for desserts, homemade pies, spices, fruits, donuts, and so many other goodies. We actually ate ate apple cider donuts before the maze on the deck and then went back after the maze to bring some home. By the time you walk through the market you will be itching to go home and bake or maybe just eat the pie you purchased.
If the kids are starting to get tired you can head out front and check out the pumpkins there or get adventurous and drive up to the pumpkin patch to go find your perfect pumpkin!
When you go to your car do not be surprised if the kids run up the hill that calls for them to run up and sit surrounded by beauty!
Or they may want to watch the fountain and the ducks swimming in the pond. No matter what you decide it would be wise to have your camera ready.
Take a minute and enjoy what’s around you
If trees could talk.
Ducks hoping for donut crumbs
Sometimes old fences look the best
Looking a little like Tom Sawyer

That looks like a lot of fun, with much to do. Especially for the kids. There’s a pumpkin patch local to where I live but I haven’t been there yet. Hoping to before it closes for the season.
