Toronto should make it onto to everyone’s Bucket List. It doesn’t matter whether your list only has three places to visit or whether it has fifty-three places; Toronto has to be on it. There is just so much to it that most people don’t realize. For example, it is the most culturally diverse city anywhere on earth because, not only were half of its residents born outside the Canadian border, over 140 languages are spoken there.
Of course, that isn’t the sole reason why you should go and visit. The other reasons you should go and visit is because it is a city that is alive with things to do, a city that has a buzz like nowhere else, a city that is jam packed full of amazing restaurants, festivals, bars, and activities, as we are about to explain to you in full:
Iconic Buildings
When it comes to buildings that have made Toronto famous, known stands out more than the 550m CN Tower that burst from the skyline like nothing you have ever seen before. What makes this a must visit spot is the panoramic views from the top, which give you a fantastic three hundred and sixty-degree view over the entire city.
Shopping
If you are looking for a shopper’s paradise then the one place you need to make sure you spend at least a day is Bloor Yorkville. If you want to get a real feel for it and see exactly what is on offer then you should visit Bloor-Yorkville.com/cat/shopping/, but to give you an overview of what it is like, more often than not it is compared to New York’s Fifth Avenue, LA’s Rodeo Drive and Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.
Hockey
If there is one thing that Canadians take more seriously than anything else it is hockey. The only other thing that comes close is hockey. Yup, they love their hockey. It is a way of life in Canada, and that is why you should try and take the time to visit the Hall Of Fame they have, which can learn more about at hhof.com/htmlGeneralInfo/. It is the ultimate dedication to their favorite sport.
Restaurants
There is something about Kensington Market that is totally disarming, which is probably what has made it the hub of all things bohemian and fun, not least of all the restaurants they have on offer here. If you’re lucky enough to be here in the summer, then you may well be lucky enough to experience one of their many free festivals.
Beach
We told you Toronto had it all and we weren’t fibbing. If you want one of those days that is fun-filled and inexpensive, then the best thing you can do is be beach ready and head to the Toronto Island Park, which will mean a day of beaching it, playing volleyball and cooling off in the wading pool. If you fancy a little bit of a cultural exploration in the afternoon, well, you can head to the Gibraltar Lighthouse and learn all about the history of the place, and the myths too.
